About Mark

Born 1964, Suffolk, England

I was born in Suffolk and am now based in Blackpool in Lancashire.

After working as an industrial screen printer for nearly 20 years I had to give up work due to a long period of depression. As I recovered I enrolled as a mature student on a Foundation Art and Design course at the Blackpool and the Fylde College, receiving a Distinction. I stayed on at B&FC to take  BA (Hons) Fine Art and Professional Practice and was awarded a first class honours degree. I received the Mary Elizabeth Barrow award from Blackpool and the Fylde College. In October 2018 I began a course on Children's Book Illustration at the Univerity of Central Lancashire (UCLan) in Preston and gained a Post Graduate Certificate in September 2019.

As well as being an artist I am also a life model and have posed for many artists, photographers and life drawing classes.
